Joining Our Community is Easy

There are two main ways to join our chat room. You can use the simple web-based client, or you can use your own IRC client for more features and a more stable connection.

Method 1: Web Client (The Easiest Way)

This is the quickest way to join the chat. No installation is required.

  1. Click this link: Join Chat Now
  2. A new tab will open with the MelloChat web client.
  3. Choose a nickname for yourself.
  4. That’s it! You’re in the chat.

Note: The web client does not currently support encryption of chat records. For a more secure connection, we recommend using your own IRC client.

Method 2: Using Your Own IRC Client

If you plan on being a regular visitor, we recommend using a dedicated IRC client. This will provide a better experience with more features and a more reliable connection.

Here are the details you’ll need:

  • Server: irc.mellochat.com
  • Port: 6667 (or 6697 for an SSL-encrypted connection)
  • Channel: #schizophrenia

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Download and install an IRC client. Some popular clients include:

  2. Open your IRC client and add a new network.

  3. Enter the server details:

    • Find the settings to add a new IRC server.
    • Enter irc.mellochat.com as the server address.
    • Enter 6667 for the port. If you want to use SSL for a secure connection, use port 6697 and make sure to enable the SSL option.

  4. Connect to the server.

  5. Join the channel: Once you are connected to the server, type the following command and press Enter:

    /join #schizophrenia

  6. You are now in the chat room! Feel free to say hello.

SSL Connection Note: Our server uses a self-signed SSL certificate. This means your IRC client may not trust it by default. You will likely need to configure your client to accept this certificate. Look for an option like “Accept invalid SSL certificates” in your client’s settings.
